One of this year's most pleasant surprises was Sam Mendes's AWAY WE GO, a big-hearted comedy about a happily unmarried couple erratically searching for the ideal place to raise their soon-to-be-born child. I never thought a control-freak, seemingly misanthropic director like Mendes would be able to make a film with such warmth, but he completely gave himself over to the soulful screenplay from Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida and turned in what is easily his best movie to date (featuring great performances from an ensemble cast which includes John Krasinski, Maya Rudolph, Allison Janney, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Paul Schneider, Catherine O'Hara and many more).

AWAY WE GO is the kind of film you want to share with friends and family, so I'm thrilled Focus Features sent over two (2) Blu-rays for me to ship out to a couple of lucky AICN readers. Want one?
